Website checklist

Make sure your website aligns with card network standards and e-commerce best practices.

This page contains a list of the common elements — such as accurate product descriptions, clear policies, and proper security features — that each business on Voucherly should address on its website. Adhering to these recommendations reduces the risk of customer confusion and disputes. It also helps you meet Voucherly’s standards and the standards set by the credit card networks.

Requirements

warning

If any requirements are not met, Voucherly activation cannot proceed, and you will be asked to update the necessary information.

Ensure customers can reach you easily by providing multiple contact methods, such as:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Live chat

Low-friction communication channels reduce misunderstandings and improve customer satisfaction, helping to prevent disputes. Avoid relying solely on contact forms.

Provide clear details about your business, including:

  • Full legal name
  • VAT number
  • Chamber of Commerce registration (CoC, also known as REA in Italy)
  • Registered business address

This information adds credibility and helps customers verify your business’s legitimacy.

Clearly outline your policies to build trust and set expectations. These include:

  • Refund Policy. Conditions under which refunds are issued.
  • Cancellation Policy. Rules for subscription or reservation cancellations.
  • Return Policy. Conditions for returns and step-by-step instructions.
  • Shipping Policy. Methods, times, rates, and eligible destinations.
  • One-click payment Addendum. Please refer to Voucherly one-click payment addendum.

Please add a click-to-accept checkbox with the terms and conditions at checkout. If this is not possible, clearly inform your customers that by placing the order, they implicitly accept the website's terms and conditions.

info

If your business has no fulfillment process (such as in-person service), fulfillment policies are not required.

To comply with global privacy laws, include a clear privacy policy that explains how customer data is collected, stored, used, or shared. This demonstrates your commitment to protecting customer information.

Best practices

By implementing these practices, you enhance customer trust, improve their experience, and reduce the likelihood of disputes.

Help your customers make informed purchasing decisions by providing detailed descriptions of your products or services. For example:

  • For physical goods, include multiple images and information about materials, colors, and other specifications.
  • For digital or service-based offerings, clearly outline features, benefits, and any limitations.

Detailed descriptions also help set accurate expectations, reducing the risk of disputes by making it clear what customers will receive.

info

If your website does not clearly describe what you’re selling, we may contact you with recommendations for improvement.

Clearly display the currency used for pricing on your site. Use explicit terms like EUR or USD instead of relying solely on symbols which can vary by region. This helps international customers avoid confusion.

warning

Voucherly supports EUR only payments.

Disclose any legal or export restrictions applicable to your products or services. This transparency builds trust and helps customers understand any limitations that might impact them.

Clearly state the conditions for any promotions, discounts, or free trials. Provide visible disclaimers or links when customers agree to participate, ensuring transparency and avoiding disputes.

Reassure customers that their payment data is safe by:

  • Complying with PCI standards.
  • Using HTTPS and other security best practices.
  • Preventing vulnerabilities such as card testing.

Explain how you handle customer payment information securely and maintain their trust.

Display the logos of the payment gateways you accept at checkout. This reduces friction by making it clear which payment methods are supported. Voucherly provides this information via API. Please refer to the Get payment gateways endpoint.
